FAQ About The Session:

Q: Where does the session take place?
A: The session may take place in the studio or on location.

Q: How long do sessions last?
A: Sessions may last anywhere from 45 min. to 2 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding (newborns), playing, and getting comfortable with each other. Session are never rushed so that everyone can feet calm and relaxed. If your child is sick or unusually cranky on the day or your session, please contact Alejandra to reschedule your appointment. If you are planning to photograph your baby without clothes, be prepared for “everyone” to have a change at clothes, especially anyone who may have to go to work later, in case of any “accidents.

Q: How far in advance should I schedule my session?
A: Sessions are usually booked up approximately 3-4 weeks in advance, so please schedule as early as possible to ensure there are openings for your desired session date, especially if it is for a maternity or newborn session. For fall & holiday sessions, you should plan to have those scheduled no later than September (and earlier when possible) due to the extremely busy time. The cutoff to receive portraits/ cards by December 24th is NOVEMBER 7th, 2008. Once the fall sessions are booked, there will be a waiting list.

Q: What time should I arrive for my session?
A: All sessions are by appointment only. Please try to be on time. There’s no reason to arrive much earlier than your scheduled time. If you are early, you may have to wait while another session is finishing. If you are late, you will have less time for your own session. You have plenty of time to dress children and get them ready once you arrive. If you anticipate being more than 15 minutes late, you may need to call to reschedule for another day.

Q: What time of day is best for my session?
A: It is best (and recommended) to have morning/noon session for babies and children, as this time of day seems to be their happiest and is ideal for creating the best portraits. In addition, sessions are usually more productive with smaller numbers of people present.

Q: Should I bring someone to help me with my children?
A: Children tend to get overwhelmed and over stimulated with several people trying to get them to smile. Sometimes the best portraits are created when everyone has left the room allowing Alejandra to interact one on one. Also, focusing on one child per session is usually most productive when possible. If you want your child to be looking at the camera it is better to let Alejandra be the main one interacting with babies/children so that their focus is on her and the eyes are looking directly at her/thecamera.
